Marketing & Sales

Location: North Oxford
Hours: Full/Part Time available

About the Role

Gilded of Oxford is looking for a highly organised, creative and commercially minded person to join our growing team in a hands-on Marketing & Sales role.

This is an opportunity to take real responsibility for the marketing and communications of a growing stationery brand. You will work closely with the founder and wider team across press, content, social media, e-commerce, wholesale, sales and advertising, helping to ensure that our products are consistently seen, communicated and presented to the right audiences.

Gilded of Oxford is currently represented in 26 stores around the world, and we are continuing to expand our retail, wholesale and online presence. As we grow, continual communication with existing stockists, prospective retailers, customers and the press is a major part of our success.

This is not a role where you will be responsible for just one small area of marketing. We are looking for someone who enjoys getting involved, taking ownership and seeing things through from an idea or enquiry to completion.

Training is available. We are more interested in someone who is capable, curious, organised and enthusiastic than someone who already knows everything.

What You Will Be Doing

Marketing & Content

  • Managing and organising our library of product and lifestyle images.
  • Supporting and creating photography and video content for products, social media, campaigns and press.
  • Creating and editing content using Canva, CapCut or equivalent tools.
  • Helping plan and maintain our marketing and content calendar.
  • Supporting product launches, seasonal campaigns and new collections.
  • Helping ensure that our brand is consistently presented across our website, social media, wholesale materials and other channels.

Press & Communications

Press communication will be a significant part of this role.

  • Building and maintaining relationships with journalists, editors, publications, bloggers and other relevant contacts.
  • Identifying opportunities for Gilded of Oxford products to be featured in relevant publications and media.
  • Preparing and sending press information, product details and imagery.
  • Responding to press enquiries and managing product/sample requests.
  • Keeping an organised database of press contacts and communications.
  • Proactively looking for opportunities to get our products in front of the right audiences.

Sales & Wholesale

  • Managing our sales and prospective stockist database.
  • Contacting prospective stockists and following up leads.
  • Maintaining communication with existing retail accounts.
  • Tracking enquiries, samples, orders and follow-ups.
  • Preparing wholesale information and sales materials.
  • Helping identify potential new retailers in the UK and internationally.
  • Supporting the founder with wholesale communication and business development.
  • Keeping accurate records so that opportunities and follow-ups don't get lost.

E-commerce & Advertising

  • Supporting the day-to-day management of our Shopify store.
  • Helping keep product listings, imagery and information accurate and up to date.
  • Assisting with email marketing and newsletters.
  • Helping create and manage advertising campaigns across relevant platforms.
  • Monitoring campaign performance and helping identify what is working.
  • Reviewing website, social media, email and advertising performance.
  • Using results and customer response to help improve future campaigns.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who is organised, proactive, commercially aware and genuinely interested in marketing and growing a brand.

You might already have experience in marketing, sales, retail, communications, e-commerce or social media. Equally, you may be early in your career but have demonstrated that you are someone who takes responsibility and gets things done.

Essential

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organised, with strong attention to detail.
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects, deadlines and follow-ups.
  • Confident communicating with customers, retailers, press and other businesses.
  • Able to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
  • Comfortable working as part of a small, fast-moving team.
  • Commercial awareness and an interest in sales and business development.
  • Good computer skills and confidence learning new systems.
  • A proactive approach: if you see something that needs doing, you get involved.

Experience with any of the following would be an advantage

  • Shopify
  • Canva
  • CapCut or other video editing software
  • Social media management
  • Photography and product photography
  • Email marketing
  • Digital advertising
  • Wholesale or retail sales
  • PR or press communication
  • Sales databases / CRM systems
  • Faire or other wholesale platforms
  • Google Analytics or similar reporting tools

You do not need to have experience with all of these.

Training will be provided where necessary, and we are very happy to support someone who is keen to learn. What matters most is that you are organised, communicate well, learn quickly and are willing to take responsibility.
